I can’t think of anything better than a hot bowl of Brunswick stew and warm cornbread on a chilly winter’s day. Packed with smoked meats and BBQ sauce, it gives you that BBQ/smoked feel but in a bowl. Plus, it allows me to make use of all that leftover smoked meat I typically have. Since it’s usually just the wife and I, we often have left over pork butt, brisket, smoked turkey and rotisserie chicken. We just save the bits and bobs – even ribs – to throw in a big pot of Brunswick stew. If you don’t have bits…
Double Smoked Ham with Strawberry Glaze
Double smoked ham? You might be thinking, what’s the point? Well, crazy flavor, that’s the point! Seriously though, this ham is so easy and the strawberry glaze puts it over the top. The already smoked ham gets kissed by even more smoke with this method, but what I really love about this is it makes for a great Sunday dinner. But some how, some way, with a little too much wine if I had to guess, we found ourselves talking about and coming up with this Jagermeister pulled pork. I don’t even know why it happened. Weird I tell ya. Since we both hate Jagermeister, we had to go out and buy some. And we bought a big bottle, so there will be more Jager recipes to come,…
Korean Style Smoked Short Ribs
These Korean style smoked short ribs …. what can I say? I’m just gonna be very, very honest here, I was blown away. I was like, Jaxx, dude, you’re freakin’ awesome! You cooked the crap out of these short ribs! And I’m not gonna lie, I did. So I’ve made short ribs in the past. I’ve braised them in red wine. Many, many years ago I pressured them. They were good, but not a “go-to” thing. If I never had them again it would be fine, it would never cross my mind again. So I was quite surprised when my wife…
